Playtech Expands to Swiss iGaming Market

Playtech – one of the giants within the gambling world – ventures again into the Swiss gambling market, having a deal with Casinò Lugano.

The partnership is about launching Playtech software and online casino products with the freshly released land-based casino.

Swiss4Win online gambling brand will be the first one in the region to offer Playtech Live Casino titles, Casino games, and IMS (information management solution). The provider is growing its distribution in the region. Casino Lugano has become the latest land-based casino in the country to cooperate with Playtech.

In 2019 Switzerland’s Money Gaming Act came into force. It says that local land-based gambling brands have permission to launch online gaming operations and have partnerships with providers holding local licenses.

At the end of the year, Playtech provider entered the Swiss market. Their first partner was Swiss Casino Group. Casino Zurich gained access to Playtech content and offered player Live Casino products and a number of other gambling titles.

A New Growth Area for Playtech

Shimon Akad Playtech COO commented on the company’s expansion in Switzerland, that they considered the region to be an exciting growth area for Playtech products. He also stated that a Live Casino was a key product for the company. Partnership with Casino Lugan and using the IMS platform can significantly influence local iGaming space.

Casino Lugano’s representatives also mentioned being excited about the upcoming partnership. The company is looking forward to growing and enhancing the local gaming market. Playtech software will give a chance to deliver an innovative gambling experience to local players, especially if they try online casinos for the first time.

Playtech also announced their plan to enter another market with their Live Casino products. They will launch a studio in Michigan and create gameshow-style content and broadcast Playtech’s live casino games.
